In 2013 Georgia Hardinge collaborated with River Island to produce a 14 piece Spring/Summer collection for their successful 'Design Forum' line - an initiative that gives emerging young designers the opportunity to design a small collection for the popular high street store.
Inspired by the Swiss sculptor, H.R. Giger, Georgia designed the collection with the female form in mind, drawing upon Giger's dark imagery and echoing the depth of his work in her sculptural prints. The dramatic showpiece pictured above, is a perfect representation of this and was displayed in their flagship store on Oxford Street, London.
"I have a fascination with sculpture and love to transfer this 3D way of working into clothing - the main showpiece which is shown in the film was sculpted to flatter and mould around the female silhouette." - Georgia Hardinge,
"I absolutely love what River Island are producing at the moment - there is a definite buzz around the brand and they are really bringing something fresh and new to the high street."
